It is sad but true that in the Western world its is far harder to succeed as a black person than its is to succeed as his white counterpart.
Discrimination will never be completely abolished in all forms and whilst you can hide the fact that you are Jewish or homosexual, how do you hide that you are black?
The decks are stacked totally against the black man as almost everything bad is blamed squarely on their shoulders.
Society is quick to blame the rap/hip-hop culture for contributing to the rise of delinquency amongst our youths.
Sportsmen like Lennox Lewis are British when they are world champions but Jamaican when they do something bad.
The killings of Black youths which is on the up and up is not treated with the same amount of widespread grief and sorrow as their white counterparts.
As Black man especially, it is not enough to be good at your job, you have to be brilliant and exceptional but there is a point that you cannot go beyond despite your obvious suitability for the position.
At work you would always find that there are 3 or 4 levels of positions that are occupied by different races.
In the UK, for instance, in most cases, you find at the Local Government level, you will find 90% of the staff at level 1 which is usually Administrative Assistant or clerk or something menial, are either Blacks or Asians.
You move up a level, to the Administrative Officer level and you will find that number has reduced with 20% of the staff being Black, with the other shared equally between the Asians and the Whites.
You then move up another level to the level of the Decision Makers, and the percentage of Black people have dropped down to 5%, Asians perhaps 45% and Whites 50%
And finally as we move to the Senior Manager level then the amount of Blacks are now a whopping 0%, Asians some 5% and Whites 95%.
This is not just restricted to Local Governments, it is prevalent in all works of life in the UK.
I work temporarily for an IT call centre in Uxbridge and the agents are varied in the percentage quota with different nationalities involved. You have possibly an equal amount of Blacks, Asians and Whites, all subdivided to different nationalities as different countries are being called.
You move up a level to Team leader and there is not a single black man as Team leader with 2 Asians out of 10.
Suffice to say all the managers are white, both junior and senior managers.
There is the ridiculous equal opportunity forms asked to be filled that everybody knows is just for the lower levels of job positions and does not apply to the higher positions.
It is not a secret that as Black Man working in the UK, there is a point that you are not allowed to go beyond because the system in place would not allow it.
From all this, it is quite clear that to succeed on your own merit and not be constrained by what is put place by the system, you have to work from a position whereby the colour of your skin does not come into play.
The Internet is like the saviour for the black man as you do not have to be seen, you do not have to be discriminated against by your voice or accent over the phone and for the first time in your life, you are judged on your merits and not hired because you are black or fired for the same reason
